Pasted a photo element that clashes with your painting’s colors?

Go to Image > Adjustments > Match Color.

  1. Set Source to your current document.
  2. Set Layer to the background painting (or a merged copy).
  3. Adjust Luminance and Color Intensity to taste.

Photoshop re-maps the photo’s pixels to match your painting’s palette.
